| Howdy! I was wondering from the pictures you took (Great pictures) who did the improvements? Were they done before the homes were bought OR did the new owners make the improvements. I am new to all this - just learning how this works! Thanks so much Liz in Texas. | |

| Hey there... the improvements were all done by the home owners after they made their purchase... there are a few dif. contractors etc. that you can contact to do the work. | |

| Lambeth Refuse Makes Fin Tower Published on 08-12-2008 by Skyscrapernews.com Architects, Make have had their dreams of building a new tower at 36-48 Albert Embankment on the south bank of the river Thames dashed with planning permission being refused by local Lambeth Council. Despite having designed a tower which the council themselves classed as "very good architecture" they still found grounds to not have the tower built in their backyard, excuses included. The council's light experts had assessed the proposals and found that some bedrooms and kitchens in the nearby Peninsula Heights, home of the rich such as Jeffery Archer, would lose all of their sunlight and have their daylight halved. Currently, laws guarantee the right to a certain amount of light every day and these would be breached if the development were to go ahead in its current form despite attempts by the architect to negate right-to-light issues by having the shape of the building arranged in such a way as to minimise overshadowing although this only affected 12 of the 142 rooms. Adding another spanner to the works, the development did not provide the 25% employment use as required by Council policy and no supporting information had been provided to justify this. There were also a number of rooms in the development that did not meet the requirements of the council's Supplementary Planning Document in regard to size, and it also included over 20 studio flats that were significantly smaller than the minimum space standard for a one person dwelling in the SPD. It now seems that the 75 metre tall 25 storey residential building will need a significant redesign with an increased office element and better massing to further negate the impact of overshadowing on its neighbours.
